Vox created the Wah Wah pedal by accident during the design of the Vox Super Beatle amplifier in 1966!

In 1967 we released our first model, and soon enough the Wah pedal became part of the iconic sound of some of the biggest names in guitar: Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, George Harrison, Tommy James and the Shondells, Terry Kath from Chicago, Martin Barre from Jethro Tull, Tony Iommi from Black Sabbah, and many more.
